API 579 Fitness for Service

Built a pressure-equipment Fitness-for-Service assessment scenario for two carbon-steel ethylene oxide purification columns with external inspection findings requiring continued-service review before a future planned shutdown. The project includes field-style inspection reports, vessel data sheets, UT grids, historical thickness records, pit/dent/flaw measurement tables, decoy records, and a company-approved FFS procedure based on common Level 1 and Level 2 assessment methods. The task challenges agents to classify damage mechanisms, extract governing thickness and flaw data from raw inspection records, calculate corrosion allowance and remaining strength, determine whether each finding is fit for service, and recommend monitoring, pressure limits, supplemental inspection, or repair actions needed to keep the columns safely operating.
